the people behind the architecture

We are Synthrun.

A specialized studio that audits production applications, writes a plain-language architecture plan before any code ships, and stays in orbit until your team fully owns the result. No black boxes. No hand-waving. Just transparent decisions, shipped safely and kept alive.

Core Engineering Principles

01

Zero Black Boxes

Every data pipeline and failure domain is drawn and understood.

02

Written ADRs First

Architecture Decision Records signed off before code changes.

03

Measured Stability

Error budgets, green builds, and live telemetry over vague promises.

04

Full Ownership

Runbooks and pipelines your in-house team operates independently.

Our Origins & Philosophy

The Story Behind the Systems

Scroll through to see how we shifted software engagements from reactive panic to deliberate, calm engineering.

Chapter 01·The Inciting Outage

Born in production panic.

We didn’t begin in a boardroom with slides. We started in the dark during 3 AM incident bridges.

Synthrun was born inside  late-night production incident rooms   the kind where three engineering teams stare at divergent dashboards, point fingers at different microservices, and  nobody agrees on who owns the failure .

A distributed database was locking under load, cache stampedes were starving background workers, and the frontend was throwing 502 bad gateways at thousands of paying users. Everyone was  patching symptoms in isolation , hoping the system would hold until morning.

ADR 001Architectural Lesson

Symptoms are cheap to patch. Defining clear architectural boundaries is what actually prevents the next 3 AM emergency.

Chapter 02·The Consultancy Myth

Why slides never fixed a server.

Traditional agencies sell 40-page PDF reports that look impressive in meetings and rot immediately in production.

Every enterprise consultancy follows the same playbook: bill massive retainers, drop in an army of analysts, and deliver a  forty-page PDF full of buzzwords that nobody reads . The moment a critical service crashes,  that PDF helps nobody .

The true fix was never more bureaucracy, endless sprint ceremonies, or another bloated monitoring stack. It was  a single, plain-language architecture plan  that every engineer, founder, and designer could reason about without ambiguity.

ADR 002Architectural Lesson

If an architecture cannot be clearly explained on one sheet of paper, it is already too fragile for production.

Chapter 03·The Architecture Standard

Draw the boundaries before touching code.

We write the architecture down first. Every data flow, failure domain, and trade-off is made explicit.

We built Synthrun around an uncompromising rule:  we write the architecture down first . Before a single line of production code is refactored or shipped, we map the entire state lifecycle, isolate failure domains, and  record every architectural decision as an immutable ADR .

No hidden dependencies. No hand-waving.  No magical black boxes . When your team asks "why was it built this way?" six months later, the  exact rationale and trade-off analysis  is right there in the repository.

ADR 003Architectural Lesson

Every design decision is a living contract, tested against real-world throughput and reproducible failure modes.

Chapter 04·True Independence

We stay until your team owns every byte.

We do not build dependencies to keep you on retainer. We transfer complete operational mastery.

Most agencies intentionally build opaque architectures to ensure you remain dependent on their hourly rates forever.  We do the exact opposite . We build  clean CI/CD pipelines, automated runbooks, and self-healing observability .

We stay in orbit alongside your developers until your in-house team is  100% confident operating, debugging, and scaling the system independently . Good architecture is not a temporary phase   it is an enduring habit .

ADR 004Architectural Lesson

Success means your team ships fearlessly and debugs calmly without needing us in the room.

Have a system that needs clear architecture?

We start with a focused audit call, agree on a written plan, and stabilize your critical paths with zero disruption to active users.
